Tenzer PLLC attorneys negotiate lease for new South Beach restaurant

November 21, 2016

MIAMI, FL – Nov. 21, 2016 – Tenzer PLLC Member Ari M. Tenzer and Associate Adriana Blanco Maurisset have completed the successful negotiation of a restaurant lease for DÔA, a new Latin-Asian concept in South Beach.

Arjun Waney, an international restaurateur, is launching DÔA as his first venture in Miami Beach. The restaurant is set to open this November.

Located at 2000 Collins Ave., DÔA will provide indoor and outdoor seating and remain open daily until late, even by Miami Beach standards. Tenzer and Blanco Maurisset arranged the lease for the 5,200-square-foot space.

DÔA is part of a mixed-use development with a hotel and residences. In addition to the master association, there were separate condo documents for the hotel and residential components. Before finalizing the restaurant lease, Tenzer and Blanco Maurisset had to ensure the condo documents were devoid of material issues that would interfere with construction or operation.

Tenzer and Blanco Maurisset have extensive experience representing restaurateurs, developers, owners, and operators in the U.S. and internationally. They have developed a notable niche handling restaurant leases for prominent clients.

The Miami-based firm has represented Waney’s group in the leases for his other popular restaurants, including Zuma and Coya in Miami, as well as Waney’s next venture La Petite Maison. Located within the new condominium BrickellHouse, La Petite Maison is an international restaurant concept that has three additional locations in London, Dubai, and Istanbul. Tenzer and Blanco Maurisset negotiated a lease of more than 5,000 square feet for the high-end French restaurant.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have a long-standing relationship with Arjun Waney, Tunu Puri, and their team and look forward to the success of DÔA,” said Tenzer. “Contrary to popular opinion, a successful restaurant depends on more than just marketing campaigns, menus, and décor. Restaurant leases provide the foundation that will govern the entire life of the business.”
